Frequently asked questions
The useful details before turning your sources into a study session.
Which file formats and sources can I use?
You can upload PDFs and JPEG, PNG or WebP images, or add a web page or YouTube link. Preparation extracts the available content before building your course. Check the preparation report: adding a link does not guarantee that all its content, or a complete video transcript, can be retrieved.
How does Capy Recap guide my learning?
Capy Recap turns your sources into a course plan with modules, then lets you choose how to study. Listen to explanations with Aristote, explain ideas and answer follow-up questions with Socrate, practise recall with Flashcards, or test your understanding with Quiz. Review the plan and choose the topic you want to work on next.
Can I study any subject?
You can create a course around different subjects by providing relevant sources. The result depends on what can be extracted and how clearly the material explains the topic. Check specialist terminology, formulas and worked examples against your originals; some skills also require practical work beyond a study session.
How quickly are study materials generated?
Generation time depends on the size and number of sources, extraction requirements and service availability. Preparing sources and generating a course plan are separate steps; study activities are generated when you request them. Previously prepared, unchanged sources can be reused. The interface reports progress and errors, but there is no fixed completion-time guarantee.
How are my data kept private and protected?
Private projects require an authenticated account, and authentication uses secure cookies. Your sources are processed by storage, document-processing and AI services to provide the features you request. Voice activities also process audio and transcripts. Read the privacy page for details about processing, sharing and analytics before uploading sensitive material.
Read the privacy informationCan Capy Recap help me prepare for exams?
Capy Recap gives you ways to review your course, practise recalling information and check your understanding through questions and explanations. Use your syllabus and past papers to decide what to cover, then revisit the concepts you find difficult. It supports preparation, but does not guarantee a higher grade or predict your exam questions.
How does Capy Recap know what I need to study?
The course plan is built from the sources you provide. Add materials that reflect your syllabus, learning objectives or assessment requirements, then check the generated modules before starting. Capy Recap does not automatically know your teacher’s expectations or your exam scope unless that information is in your material.
How can I tell whether I am really learning?
Try answering a flashcard before revealing the answer, explain a concept in your own words with Socrate, and review your quiz results and corrections. Return to the same ideas later and check whether you can still explain or apply them without help. A correct answer or a high score in one session is useful feedback, rather than proof of lasting mastery.
What if my exam is tomorrow?
Start with the material most relevant to the exam and review the course plan before studying. Use short quiz or flashcard sessions to identify gaps, then revisit the explanations for those topics. Keep the scope realistic: Capy Recap can help organise a focused review, but cannot guarantee that you will master an entire course overnight.
How is Capy Recap different from ChatGPT?
Capy Recap provides a dedicated workflow from your sources to a course plan and study activities, including oral explanations, teach-back conversations, flashcards and quizzes. ChatGPT is a general-purpose assistant that can also help with studying. The difference is the structured learning workflow; it does not mean Capy Recap’s AI is automatically more accurate.
How much does Capy Recap cost?
You can create an account and start for free. The pricing page lists the available free and paid plans, with their displayed prices and features. Check that page when choosing a plan so you have the current offer.
View the plans and pricingWill Capy Recap work with my class or training course?
You can use relevant course documents, notes, images and supported links as sources. Review the generated plan against your class outline or training objectives, and add material for anything missing. Capy Recap helps you study those materials; it does not automatically connect to your school’s systems or replace your instructor’s requirements.
Can I use Capy Recap during lessons?
You can open Capy Recap in your browser to review prepared material or add supported sources during a lesson, where your instructor allows it. Voice activities need microphone permission and a suitable setting. Live lecture recording is not part of the source workflow described here; use the documents or links you are permitted to provide.
Can I use Capy Recap to learn beyond school?
Yes. You can build a course from relevant sources for personal learning or professional development, as well as academic study. Choose a clear goal and review the generated material against it. Practical skills still need hands-on practice, and the usefulness of each activity depends on the topic and your sources.
What can I do if I get stuck on a concept?
Return to that module and use Aristote for an explanation, or Socrate to work through your reasoning. Quiz explanations can help you understand a correction. Compare the difficult point with your original source; if the source is incomplete or unclear, add a clearer explanation and review the updated course plan.
Can I trust the AI’s answers?
AI-generated plans, explanations and corrections can contain mistakes or miss context, even when based on your sources. Compare important answers with the original material, check calculations and specialist details, and ask your instructor when something remains unclear. Treat the AI as study support rather than a final authority.
Is my uploaded content published or kept private?
Uploading sources does not automatically publish them. Projects are private by default, and publishing a course is an explicit action. A published course lists source names by default; allowing visitors to open or download the original documents requires a separate sharing choice. Review those settings and your right to share the material before publishing.

Yes. You can use the website in your phone’s browser, with navigation and layouts designed for mobile screens. You need an internet connection for online processing and study services. Voice features also depend on your browser’s audio support and microphone permissions.
